Day Five: Fengang to Zhiben, 85km.
The morning began with our first real tough incline - a 455m climb that took us from the island’s west coast to east coast. One by one, we made it to the top, soaked through the bones by the pouring rain, but with gleaming eyes and victorious smiles.
Too tired from the morning’s workout to pick up a drawing pen, and not wanting my sketchbook to get wet in the rain, I handed it over to little Minshan for safekeeping, as she had opted out of the day’s tough ride and was sitting bored on the van. These are what I found on the pages when she returned the sketchbook to me at the end of the day.
